Call For Papers

The Physics Unit of ATINER, will hold a Stream on “Nanocomposites for Space Applications”as part of the 6th Annual International Conference on Physics, 23-26 July 2018, Athens, Greece sponsored by the Athens Journal of Sciences.

Due to the fast development of the space industry, nanocomposites for extraterrestrial applications became highly demanded. Nanocomposites for space applications include materials with high radiation withstanding and absorbing capabilities, corrosion in extra-terrestrial environment (Martian, Venusian, and satellites of the giant planets), thermal-isolation coatings with prolonged lifetime, drugs for treatment space-flight related disorders, caused, for example, by weightlessness, and a number of other materials. The multiplicity of the international research projects in the area of space exploration serves the evidence that scientific results in this area are highly demanded. The goal of this stream is to experience exchange of ideas and information on nanotechnology-related educational issues among universities and research labs, and to establish scientific and technical connections with European and all-over the world partners, improving the efficiency of the research and development in the area of nanocomposites, deepening the academic knowledge on the matter.

The problematic targeted by this stream covers, but is not limited to, applying plasma technologies for creating nanocomposites, different materials, including smart nanocomposite materials for space-related technologies, such as sensors, protecting screens, lubricants, fuel additives, radiation stable materials, biocomposites. Participants from academic universities, government scientific laboratories and industrial companies are welcome to this conference stream. You may participate as presenter of one paper, chair or/and organizer of a session, or observer.

Fee structure information is available on www.atiner.gr/2018fees.

Special arrangements will be made with a local hotel for a limited number of rooms at a special conference rate. In addition, a number of special events will be organized: A pragmatic symposium (as organized in Ancient Athens but fine tuned to synchronous ethics), a special one-day educational island tour, a Mycanae and island of Poros visit, an Athens educational walking tour, an one-day visit to Delphi and an ancient Corinth and Cape Sounion visit.
