The aim is to bring together academics & practitioners in order to share ideas & methods for the exploration of foreign direct investment (FDI), the role of multinational corporations (MNCs) an the complexity of the globalized business environment.

Call For Papers

The 11th International Conference on International Business (ICIB 2010 /2011 /2012 /2013 /2014 /2015 /2016 /2017/2018/2019) aims to bring together academics and practitioners in order to share ideas and methods for the exploration of foreign direct investment (FDI), the role of multinational corporations (MNCs) and the complexity of the globalized business environment.

ICIB 2020 will take place in Thessaloniki (Greece) on 21-24 May 2020 and will be organized in parallel sessions of English and Greek.ICIB 2020 will host the International Symposium on International Affairs: Business, Economics and Politics – ISIABEP

ICIB promotes distance conferencing and hosts both teleconference and poster sessions.

ICIB is supported by a number of participating journals and follows a specific publication procedure.

How to get to Thessaloniki by Air and Over-Land?

  • By plane – from all over the World & EuropeThessaloniki, being Greece’s second largest city, is comfortablely reachable by plane from all major air hubs around Europe. Ryanair, WizzAir, Aegean Airlines and Easyjet still offer very decently priced tickets as of today. Thessaloniki’s Macedonia Airport is located 16km outside the city and is served by a 24/7 bus service (line 78, 78A and 78N, during night). Tickets for Bus No. 78 and 78N come at 2,00 EUR. Tickets for Bus No. 79 come at 1,00 EUR one way and 1,20 EUR (changing two buses -within a duration of 70 minutes) and  1,50 EUR for changing three buses. The trip takes about 50 minutes to downtown Thessaloniki. The ticket, inside the bus, costs 1,10 EUR one way and 1,30 EUR (changing two buses -within a duration of 70 minutes). Updated ticket prices here.
  • By bus – from Southeast Europe & TurkeyAdditionally, Thessaloniki is greatly connected over-land by bus from multiple destinations in Southeast Europe, incl. Istanbul, Athens, Sofia, Skopje, Belgrade and Tirana. Buses arrive at Macedonia Central Bus Station (KTEL station), which is located 5km west of Thessaloniki’s city center. Inner-city buses connect KTEL station with the city center.
  • By train – from within GreeceIf you wish to arrive by train, connections from Athens are decently priced, both for overnight and day trips. Student discounts are available and the overnight fare  comes at as low as 16 EUR one way. Also, special prices at 9.99 EUR comes for one way trips.
  • By Ferry – from the Greek IslandsFor Greek students residing on islands nearby, a couple of connections from the islands of Lemnos, Lesvos, Chios and Athens port at Pireaus are available.
